Merry Christmas

So this was Davis' first REAL Christmas. Last year didn't really count, because he didn't know what was going on. But he had fun this year! He opened some of his presents, and we had to help with the rest after he lost focus! Here are a few pictures of the big event!

Thanksgiving and Kisses

Yes, we all ate a little too much yesterday, including Davis! He loved his first REAL Thanksgiving... last year he just got his meal secondary, so it didn't count. This year, he enjoyed every bit. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin gooey bars and dirt cake! He ate a ton, and he would have ate even more but I stopped him. I was afraid he'd get sick!

It's the day after Thanksgiving and the cutest thing happened today... I just had to share. Davis woke up at his normal time of 7:00. I fed him a bottle, but instead of going back to sleep like he normally does, he wanted no part. So I brought him into bed with us, and that's when it happened. He sat up, looked at Johnny, got a big grin, and crawled over to give him a kiss. He kept doing it over and over again... so cute! It was the first time HE initiated kisses. Of course, he does it with his mouth open, and just leans into you. We'll have to correct that habit before he becomes a teenager :)

Party Time!

No, we're not party animals... though that does seem to be the themes of my blogs so far :)
I'm posting some pictures of Davis' 1st Birthday party. Enjoy!

Picture updates & Davis turns 1

Sorry it's been so long... this will be a long one (mostly pictures)...

I love this one. Check out the look on his face. It's his new thing!

Trying to make that face again...

And then the birthday pictures! Davis turned 1 today (November 5th).

My cool ride from Aunt Melinda!

And then comes the personal cake... and looking drunk on chocolate

Having a blast...... with my chocolate mustache!

Well, we'll post more after his party this weekend!

First Family Camping Trip

What a wonderful weekend to go camping. We had so much fun. We all went (the whole Burnett clan) to the Buffalo National River campground just outside of Boxley. It was beautiful. The leaves are starting to change color for the fall too, so we were double blessed. Davis did really well... thank God for Pack-n-Plays! Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Yikes from Ike

I know it's late, but I just got the pictures... When Ike rolled through our area, my in-laws lost several beautiful Oak trees. Johnny has spent 2 weeks cleaning up the yard. Here are a few pictures .

Here's the one with the tree that fell on the house

The Shack

I am not much of a reader. When I was in high school, I actually enjoyed the books by Michael Crichton, but my reading pretty much stopped there (besides some non-fiction). A few months ago, Johnny and I decided to stop watching TV (short lived, by the way), so I started reading a book called Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson. It was so awesome that I finished it in two days.

For my birthday, my friend Suzanna gave me the book The Shack. I had heard a little about it by my sister-in-law Kristy, but at the time I had no interest in reading. I'm about 2/3 of the way done (started a week ago, but only get to read a chapter at a time). Anyways, it's a great book. It's so deep. If you know anyone that is struggling with the loss of a loved one... definitely suggest this book. It's fiction, but it's like getting all your questions about God answered in person. Wow! He is amazing. And what a joy it is to know how much Jesus loves me. I know that sounds like a cliche, but it's true. I am so blessed!

Just had to share... if you've got a favorite book, please tell me what it is :)

New discovery

I was just told by Nana (who gives Davis a bath when she's watching him during the day) that Davis discovered "something new" in the bath yesterday. How funny! I remember when Courtney discovered her belly button. I've been told that little boys discover something else before their belly buttons. So I guess they were right!

Girls Only

So I had a girly birthday party. It was a blast!

Several of my girl friends came over for a night of gab, nail polish, makeup and snacks. We had so much fun. Thanks to all my girls who came to make my 31st a special one.

Welcome to our new blog!

You'll have to forgive the simplicity of this, but I've never attempted blogging before. I hope this will turn into something fun... a place to allow my friends and family to stay connect with us. Enjoy!
